Introducing Sage’s new head chef Jay Yang

Jay Yang’s passion for food began from an early age. Being born and raised from South Korea, he enjoyed cooking and learning the secrets to his family recipes that had been passed down from many generations.

Jay graduated from commercial cookery studies and spent the next 7 years as Chef de Partie at the Sheraton on the Park honing his skills. He proceeded to the highly acclaimed, Two Hats awarded, the Rockpool Bar & Grill. It was there where he further developed his skills for contemporary Australian cuisine.

Since then, Jay has spent time at other establishments including Bistro 80 at The Star, the Rydges Hotel at Sydney International Airport and most recently at the Crown Plaza Hawkesbury Valley Spa and Resort.

When he finds the odd time away from the kitchen, Jay enjoys spending time with his family, doing gardening and staying active playing basketball.
